Welcome to Lake George Zone

Welcome to the NSW Rural Fire Service, Lake George Zone.

The Zone comprises the Queanbeyan City and Palerang Shire Local Government Areas, both situated between the ACT and South East coast of NSW.

It incorporates 22 brigades, including a specialised Operations Support Group, plus a well-trained Remote Area Firefighting Team (RAFT).

The Bushfire Danger Period ended at midnight on 30 April 2008. Fire permits are no longer required.

The public can access information on “Before you light that fire” and “Pile Burning” on the RFS website.

Weekly pager tests will re-commence on Friday Mornings at 0905 hrs, starting with Friday 2nd May 2008.
