The Operations Support Group is one of 22 Brigades in the Lake George Zone, but has different responsibilities to a regular Rural Fire Brigade.

The Brigade works directly under the Operations Officer and provides support for the high-level officers within the district whilst they undertake fire (and other emergency) management tasks.

The Brigade is responsible for the operations of the Zone's radio and communication systems, with officer availability 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

During normal business hours, the Rural Fire Service state staff located in the Fire Control Centre in Queanbeyan manage the day-to-day operations. The Operations Support Group is always ready to be responded to assist the state staff in the case of an incident.

In addition to the major role of communications activities, the Brigade provides support to the Zone in relation to personal communications, administrative functions, transport requirements and other duties as required.

Plus, the team is always ready to be responded to other areas within the state, often with our Forward Communications Unit.

The Operations Support Group is also responsible for maintaining this website.
